A leader in the business and entrepreneurship community with over 20 years of consultancy work related to startups, organizational development and management, and strategic planning in the private, non-profit, and public sectors. With seasoned experience in the fields of hearing loss, disabilities, and sign language interpreting, Deborah established a consulting firm in 2005 before entering public policy.
In her capacity as a politically appointed policy manager at the Maryland Governor’s Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Deborah led employment and entrepreneurship policy initiatives, including coordinating and executing the first Deaf Business Summit in the country hosted at the statewide level. She also advised the Director, the Governor and his cabinet, and many State entities on numerous initiatives and policy directives.
Currently, as the Chief Development Officer for ClearMask, Deborah focuses on building relationships with underserved populations along with strategic planning and business development for ClearMask. ClearMask has been accepted into several accelerator and incubator programs including the Social Innovation Lab at Johns Hopkins University, Accelerate Baltimore, TEDCO mdPACE, and Village Capital at Gallaudet University.
