2018 D.C. Summit

Co-hosted by Eventida and the Gallaudet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute, the first-ever international Deaf Media Summit, brought together Deaf media and technology professionals, leaders, and other stakeholders to tackle the question of how Deaf Media can help strengthen the Deaf community by driving innovation, increasing entrepreneurship, and developing and fostering talent.

During the Summit that took place at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., participants explored media-centric solutions for Deaf professionals to use at work and ways to effectively drive change in the industry and the Deaf community. They shared their experience; discussed trending issues, advocacy, and best practices; and collaborated on strategies to spur advances in the field. Participants discussed 10 topics, identified by Summit co-hosts and partners as most important to the industry or community, and viewed Innovation Demonstrations.
